Sobering.

You know how there is that one guy in particular that you knew in high school ... you know the one. He was always sorta interesting, but really weird, and for some reason, you KNEW he was going to go to jail one day?

Josh Allen wasn't one of them.

http://www.ketknbc.com/news/local/4415221.html

I knew Josh for years and years through college. Studied with the guy. Worked with the guy. Ate lunch and talked philosophically with the guy. He was a very close friend of mine. Even bailed me out on piano jobs quite a number of times and saved me a lot of time and trouble. Then you lose track of him. You call him every once in a while to say hello, and is this still your cell number, oh good, talk to you later. And then one day you see him on the local news, that same close friend of yours, being escorted into a police car by a pile of law enforcement officials. You show up at the university you studied together at and see how quiet everyone is and shocked.

Then you start reading the news reports. About how he's got folders and folders of child pornography on his computer, and no one is making comments. And then another story comes out from the neighbors that lived around him, talking about how they just knew he had to be a pedophile and that they were really uncomfortable living next to him because they'd see him peeking out his blinds at their children in the front yard. That wasn't Josh. I don't know what made him choose his particular vice or why, but now his entire life is destroyed because of it. And because the news can find one person in particular who they can hone in on their distrust and paranoia, now Josh is the most disgusting person in the local area for a week.

Then you start getting the backlash. "This man was a minister, and he's telling people what to do in their lives, and he's doing this? This is giving Christianity a bad name." It's times like these where you have to remind yourself that there are no commandments that are any more important than another, and seeing as how no one is perfect, we have to accept these things. Every minister (and person in general) has their faults. No one can judge perfectly in this carnal society. Leave Josh alone. He's paying for it already.

Some of his closest friends were telling the full story today up school, and from what they said, Josh is looking at at least 2 years in federal prison if he plea bargains.

I hate this.

Quantifying and a new remix.

About quantifying: don't. If someone doesn't give you one word to describe something, or can't really tell you exactly how something is, then don't ask for it. Why is it that some things just make you really angry, or somehow soften your heart, or maybe just make you cry for no reason? If I knew those things, then I probably wouldn't get near them or their friends (unless it's the heart softening one). Just know that some things can't be explained with words, and trying to find that exact description is worthless.

Like, saying this blog entry "sucks".

Oh, and a new remix. (CLICK THE WORD "REMIX".)
